Dump Chili
I call this "dump chili" because you dump all the ingredients into a large slow cooker and letting it go overnight is best. What could be simpler than that?
INGREDIENTS
- 1 ½ pound coarsely ground beef
- 1 large yellow onion, coarsely chopped
- 3–4 cloves of garlic, peeled, crushed, and smashed
- ½ cup chili powder (I use McCormick®)
- One 24-ounce can of tomato purée
- One 24-ounce can of stewed tomatoes
- One 24-ounce can of water
- ½ teaspoon each salt and pepper
- 1 tablespoon sugar
Directions
Turn the slow cooker on high. Dump the meat, onions, garlic, and chili powder into the cooker. Stir until mixed well.
Add the tomato purée, stewed tomatoes, water, salt, pepper, and sugar to the mix and stir well.
Cover the pot and walk away.
