Margarita Steak Fajitas Recipe

Margarita Steak Fajitas are a delightful blend of flavors inspired by the refreshing taste of a margarita drink combined with the classic components of steak fajitas.

This dish typically involves marinating the steak in a mixture that mirrors the ingredients found in a margarita, such as tequila, lime juice, and other seasonings.

The marinated steak is then grilled or pan-seared to perfection and served in tortillas alongside sautéed peppers and onions, offering a tangy, zesty, and savory taste experience.

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 cup of guacamole
  • 1 cup of sliced onions
  • 4-8 flour tortillas (9-inch diameter)
  • 1/2 cup of salsa
  • 1/2 cup of sour cream
  • 1 pound top sirloin, sliced into 1-ounce strips
  • 1 cup of sliced red and yellow bell peppers

Marinade:

  • 1/4 cup of tequila
  • 1 tablespoon of sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon of chili powder
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons of minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons of cane sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 cup of fresh lemon juice

Instructions

First, in a shallow glass baking dish, combine marinade ingredients then mix well.

Cover your steak strips with marinade, and turn to coat evenly. Then cover and refrigerate for at least 2 hours.

Prepare hot coals for grilling or preheat the broiler.

After that, lift the strips from the marinade then grill or broil for 2 to 3 minutes per side.

And while steak is cooking, lightly spray a medium sauté pan with cooking spray. And over medium heat, sauté bell pepper strips then onions until tender. And keep warm.

Divide cooked steak strips into 4 servings and serve with tortillas, bell pepper, onion, guacamole, salsa, and sour cream.
