Chinese-Style Lemon Chicken:


  • boneless 4 large , skinless chicken breasts (6 oz. each)
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce
  • 3/4 cup of water
  • 1/4 cup of apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 cup of honey
  • 1/3 cup plus 2 Tbsp. cornstarch, divided
  • 6 Tbsp. of lemon juice
  • lemon peel 1/4 cup, and cut into 1/2" slices
  • 1/2 tsp. of sea salt
  • 1/4 cup of oil


In a large bowl, marinate the chicken in soy sauce for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile, in a medium saucepan, add water, vinegar, honey, 2 tablespoons of cornstarch, lemon juice, lemon peel, and salt. Then cook, stirring, over medium heat until thickened, about 9 to 10 minutes.

And remove the chicken from the marinade and cut it into strips. Then in a gallon-size plastic bag, and add 1/3 cup cornstarch and chicken pieces then shake until chicken is well coated.

Next, heat oil over medium heat in a large skillet. Then fry chicken pieces until crispy, about 11 to 12 minutes. And remove from oil then place on paper towels.

Serve with lemon sauce over top.
