The stuffed peppers recipe with rice is a classic dish that can be made in many different ways. Here's a basic recipe that you can customize to your liking:


Ingredients

1 cup of cooked rice

1 teaspoon of salt

1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce

4 large bell peppers (any color)

1 lb lean (at least 80%) ground beef

2 tablespoons chopped onion

3/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese

1 clove garlic, finely chopped

Instructions

First start by cutting a thin slice from the stem end of each bell pepper to remove the top of the pepper. Remove seeds and membranes; rinse peppers. And if necessary, cut thin slices from the bottom of each pepper so they stand up straight.

And in a 4-quart Dutch oven, add enough water to cover the peppers. Then heat to boiling; add peppers. Cook for about 2 minutes; drain.

After that in a 10-inch skillet, cook beef and onion over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until beef is brown; drain. and stir in rice, garlic, salt, and 1 cup of tomato sauce; cook until hot.

Heat the oven to 350°F.

Stuff peppers with beef mixture. Then stand peppers upright in an ungreased 8-inch square glass baking dish. then pour the remaining tomato sauce over the peppers.

And Cover tightly with foil. then Bake for 10 minutes. Uncover and bake about 15 minutes longer or until peppers are tender. Sprinkle with cheese. Enjoy!
