Sugar Cookies Recipe
Typically, our recipe creation process starts with a single point of flavor inspiration. Maybe it’s a childhood food memory, a classic flavor combination, or a curiosity about how two ingredients would work together.
But every so often, the starting point has little to do with flavor at all, as is the case with these Sugar Sugar Cookies, whose inspo is all about texture.
A plain-Jane sugar cookie is fine what’s not to love about a classic? but the magic that comes when you add a bit of coarse sugar to the equation is hard to beat.
The gritty crunch brings the experience up, up, and away. Round that out with the creaminess of white chocolate chips, and these babes are unstoppable.

Instructions for an easy sugar cookie recipe
Heat the oven to 350°F. Pan-spray or line two half-sheet pans with parchment paper or silicone baking mats.
In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the sugar, butter, and brown sugar, on medium-high for 4 minutes until well combined.
Scrape down the sides of the bowl, add the egg and vanilla, and mix for 4 more minutes.
Add the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda and paddle on low speed until just combined, about 20 seconds.
Paddle in the white chocolate chips and 30g (3 tablespoons) of the colored sugar until just incorporated.
Using a 2¾-ounce cookie scoop (or a ⅓-cup measure), scoop the dough onto the prepared pans 2 to 3 inches apart. Sprinkle with the remaining colored sugar.
Bake at 350°F until lightly golden around the edges, 8 to 10 minutes.
Let the cookies cool briefly on the pans, then transfer to a plate or an airtight container for storage.
At room temperature, the cookies will keep fresh for 3 days; in the freezer, they will keep for 1 month.
