Shortcake Crumbs



Ingredients:

Makes 2 cups

145g flour 1 cup

50g sugar ¼ cup

4g kosher salt 1 tsp

1g baking powder ¼ tsp

42g unsalted butter, melted 3 T

24g vegetable oil 2 T

4g vanilla extract 1 tsp

Instructions:

Heat the oven to 300°F. Pan-spray or line a half-sheet pan with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

In a medium bowl or stand mixer, mix together the flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder.

Add the melted butter, oil, and vanilla to the dry ingredients and toss until small clusters form. Spread the mixture out in one layer on the sheet pan.

 Bake at 300°F until medium golden brown, about 20 minutes.

Cool completely before using. Stored in an airtight container, the crumbs will keep fresh for 1 week at room temperature or 1 month in the fridge or freezer.
