Best Turkey Chili Ever
Turkey Chili Recipe
I am a mom to “5 under 5,” so I do not have a ton of time. That is why I love this chili recipe that my grandmother taught me.
It’s simple and yummy! Plus, you can keep it on low heat and let it simmer all day. I use a Dutch oven on the stovetop. This recipe is also naturally gluten-free.
INGREDIENTS
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 red bell pepper, chopped
- 5 tablespoons chili powder
- 2 teaspoons ground cumin
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- One 28-ounce can of diced tomatoes; do not drain
- 1 ½ cups chicken broth
- One 15-ounce can of black beans, rinsed
- One 15-ounce can of red kidney beans, rinsed
- One 14.5-ounce can of corn
- Garnishes: cheese, avocado, cilantro, sour cream
Directions
In a large pot or Dutch oven, add the oil over medium heat. Add in the garlic, then the turkey. Cook until the meat is done.
Add in all the rest of the ingredients except the garnishes. Lower the heat to low and cover. Cook for 1 hour. If you want your chili to be thicker, leave uncovered instead.
Serve with toppings and enjoy.
