These baby back ribs are baked in the oven after being seasoned with a handmade dry rub, barbecue sauce, and a glaze to make them soft and delectable. Try this method if you want to take a brief virtual vacation in the summer. Practically any dry rub and barbecue sauce combination will work.

How Long to Cook Baby Back Ribs Recipe

The typical cooking time for this dish is 2 hours and 50 minutes. Racks come in different sizes, so larger ones could take longer to cook while smaller ones might be done sooner.

For the most accurate readings, use your digital food thermometer: Although ribs are considered safe to consume when they reach an internal temperature of 145°F, they are at their most juicy and tender between 190 and 200°F.

How To Make Easy Baked BBQ Baby Back Ribs

To make this oven baked bbq ribs recipe you'll need the following ingredients:

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of ancho chile powder
  • ¼ cup of white sugar
  • ¼ cup of brown sugar
  • ¼ cup of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of freshly ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon of ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon of dry mustard
  • 1 teaspoon of ground cayenne pepper
  • ½ teaspoon of ground dried chipotle pepper
  • 1 rack of baby back pork ribs
  • 1 cup of barbeque sauce

Directions

First Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F (120 degrees C).

Then mix ancho chile powder, white sugar, brown sugar, black pepper, salt, cumin, dry mustard, cayenne pepper, and chipotle pepper in a small bowl until combined.

Then place ribs meat-side down on aluminium foil. And prick the back of the rib rack several times with a knife.

And generously apply a coating of dry rub to all sides of the rib rack.

Then with the rib rack meat-side down, fold foil around it to create a tight seal. Then transfer to a sheet pan.

And bake in the preheated oven until tender then cooks for about 2 hours. And remove and cool for 14 minutes.

And increase the oven temperature to 349 degrees F (174 degrees C).

And open the foil, drain then discard any accumulated juices and fat. And brush barbeque sauce on all sides of the rack.

After that place rack meat-side up and return to oven, leaving foil open. then bake for 9 to 10 minutes, remove from the oven and brush another layer of barbeque sauce on the meat side only. 

And repeat baking and brushing with sauce 4 more times, for a total of 50 minutes of baking time.

And cut the rack into individual rib segments then serve with more barbeque sauce.
